Flight Training at Aerosim Flight Academy

Committed to Aviation Training Excellence

Established in 1989 as Comair Airlines and based at the Orlando Sanford International Airport, Aerosim Flight Academy is the only flight school originally owned and operated by an airline.

In 2000, Delta Air Lines purchased Comair Airlines and the Academy was named Delta Connection Academy.  DCA continued to grow and expand its endeavors by partnering with Jacksonville University to provide flight training for their aviation degree programs.

In 2009, DCA was acquired by Aerosim Technologies, a commercial aviation training, courseware design and flight simulator manufacturer. Aerosim provides the direct link between technology and the flight line by manufacturing products to be fully integrated into the flight training curriculum.  The integration of airline quality flight training devices (FTDs) and software applications offers prepares student pilots immediate, hands on access to this technology.

Aerosim Flight Academy caters to both students wanting a career in the airlines as a commercial pilot and students who desire to train at
their own pace for recreational licenses, as well as providing recertification and type ratings to professional and private pilots.  Aerosim Flight Academy provides a professional environment based on sophisticated airline standards, the latest training tools and a dedication to quality and safety.

In addition to its relationship with Jacksonvile University, Aerosim Flight Academy's partnership with Seminole State College of Florida offers graduates who earn the FAA certification eligibility to earn 27 articulated credits toward a two-year Associates in Arts or bachelor's degree.

In its 26 years of operation, Aerosim Flight Academy has provided more than 2 million hours of flight instruction to more than 7,000 pilots and issued more than 20,000 licenses and certificates, while growing its reputation as one of the safest, most reliable academies in the world.

Filling the Global Need for Pilots

"Aerosim Flight Academy takes pride in its successful history of supplying the airline industry with first rate pilots.  We are passionate about helping our students learn how to fly by achieving two main goals- training students how to be the most knowledgeable, safe, and sought-after pilots in the aviation industry and helping students and flight instructors achieve their dreams by placing them with an airline, " said President and General Manager of Aerosim Flight Academy, Hank Coates.

A Dynamic and Diverse Training Environment

Leveraging cutting edge training systems, technology, and equipment, Aerosim Flight Academy takes a leading role in world-class international aviation training amid a diverse economic and cultural environment.

"Aerosim and our partners are vastly experienced in airline training requirements for a diverse environment.  Together, we constantly review, improve, and lean forward to develop new and innovative systems and methods of training for ultimate safety, effectiveness, and efficiency," continued Coates.
